As health care is evolving in the 21st century, so are the ways in which health care is delivered. Telehealth and telemedicine can provide a link to manage patients with
chronic diseases as well as patients with new diagnoses to improve their outcomes. The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to have an understanding of
telehealth and telemedicine, in order to make the decision to work in this specialty and have a baseline of knowledge to enter in to this specialty area.

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to:
  • Identify Telehealth applications in current healthcare settings.
  • Discuss the implications for Telehealth and its relationship to HIPAA.
  • Define the role of nursing in Telehealth.
  • Discuss barriers to Telehealth and overcoming challenges.

In order to receive CHs\CEUs, participants are required to attend the entire session and complete an evaluation.
