Civita Allard, MS, RN- BC, CNE, is a nationally known speaker who has presented seminars and workshops across the country on a variety of subjects to diverse audiences. She is well known for her work in achieving success in identifying strategies for turning complex concepts into easily understandable ideas. She has presented in such areas as critical thinking, evidence based practice, conflict resolution, medical surgical nursing, test taking strategies, clinical reasoning, documentation, management skills and customer service. Civita is a retired Navy CAPTAIN, NC,. Additionally, she is a retired Professor of Nursing, and has been awarded the New York State Chancellors Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Alumni of Merit award, and has been named to the SUNY (New York State) Honor Role. Presently, she is a faculty member at Utica College in the RN-BSN Program and the President, CEO of Quality Training Solutions Corp, providing educational seminars to nurses and students.

Cynthia began her nursing career as a critical care nurse working in the neuro ICU then transferring into the critical care float pool. She became the critical care nurse educator and with her love of teaching became a nurse educator and has been teaching critical care to nursing students for over 15 years. She still works per diem as the hospital supervisor which requires that she work very closely with patient placement and management of those critically ill. Currently serves as the Director of the pre-licensure program at Utica College.

Patrica Kelley, Ph.D. RN

Dr. Kelley received her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the Catholic University of America, a Post-master certificate in Family Primary Care from Northeastern University, a Master of Science from Boston University School of Nursing with a specialty in gerontology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the American University and an Associate Degree in Science from Northeastern University. Dr. Kelley is board certified as a Family and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

She is currently an adjunct faculty with SUNY Empire State College and Utica College. A member of the American Society of Peri-anesthesia Nurses and hold dual certification (CAPA, CPAN) in this specialty. Currently working with a large health system assisting with the development of an orientation program for Peri-anesthesia nurses based on ASPAN standards. She holds a Master’s in Nursing Education from Walden University and enjoy keeping up with current developments in nursing practice.

Educational career areas include medical surgical nursing, critical care, anatomy and physiology, interprofessional education, informatics, pathophysiology, pharmacology, research, nursing theory, philosophy, public and global health, and statistics.
In addition to HIMSS, is an active member of ANIA, ENA, and the President of Sigma Theta Tau Iota Delta Chapter, member of NLN and AACN.
