NCLEX-RN
Course Description and Schedule
The NCLEX- RN (National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses) is a test that focuses on assessing the nurses’ ability to safely and competently provide nursing care to patients. The focus is on making decisions in the clinical area and using sound nursing judgment. The examination is based on the nursing process, ABC’s, and Maslow’s Hierarchy.
The three-day review class presented by QTSC will provide the student with the tools they need for success on the NCLEX-RN. Key techniques in test taking strategies enable the student to read the question and focus on what the question is asking to enable them to pick out the best answer. A systems approach is used to review the content needed to be ready to answer the required number of questions and pass the NCLEX successfully on the FIRST attempt. While not all content may be presented in depth in class due to time constraint, the student will be provided with an overview, highlighting the major topics frequently tested on the NCLEX. Additional materials are provided to guide students to review major related materials. Medication related to each system is integrated into the review, as is decision making, delegation and problem solving. Additionally, NCLEX style questions are reviewed to enhance content and guide the student through the process of test taking. Faculty will also be available for 60 days following the course completion to review, guide, and respond to questions to support student success
Upon completion of this review course, the participants will be able to:
Identify key concepts in test taking techniques.
Utilize strategies to improve critical thinking.
Develop a study plan to ensure success on the NCLEX.
Identify key issues in nursing care using a systems approach.
