This course is held via video conference over a 4 day period, meeting for 3 hours each day.
This course is for nurses who currently practice Ambulatory Care Nursing and want to expand their knowledge in order to prepare for and take the Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification test as well as provide nurses working in this specialty area with current information to incorporate into their daily practice.

- Discuss the components of health benefits/services coverage and the implications for
- implementation with a variety of levels of patient acuity.
- Discuss the components of Plan of Care, Care Management, and Outcome Evaluation.
- Identify the most common technical and clinical Skills.
- Identify professional issues and communication; interpersonal skills and customer services.
- Review communication barriers and cultural competency.
- Discuss the key methods of documentation and informatics and how to use them.
- Describe the various components of professional development and leadership.
- Identify the most common legal and ethical issues.
- Discuss the management of clinical environment: Regulations, standards and compliance.
- Recognize the various management issues related to an ambulatory care unit.
- Identify principles of quality management as they apply to the ambulatory care setting.
